Akwa Ibom syringe manufacturers, Jubilee Syringe Company has finalised modalities of exporting syringes to West African countries.

This was made known by Mr. Akin Oyediran, General Manager of the company during an unscheduled visit to the production facility by the member representing Eket Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Pat Ifon.

Oyediran said the company has secured approval from the Ghana Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), and will be routing from Lagos to Accra by sea and the rest of the countries will be by truck from Ghana.

” We have already gotten authorization from the Ghana (FDA) to export our syringes to their country and will expand the coast to other West African Countries”

He narrated that from the product quality assurance and branding, people mistake the JSM product to come from Europe or Germany, not really looking at the labels to know it is a made in Akwa Ibom product.

“Jubilee syringe is the best quality syringe in the Nigerian market right now”

“The brand has gained global acceptance for its satisfactory quality production and branding” – Oyediran added.
The General Manager stated further that the company is working rigorously to ensure that they receive the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) endorsement, which will be an added advantage to the brand in global market.

“The NMA has gone through our quality assurance and the factory processes. I believe they are satisfied, so we are awaiting their approval” – he said.

He noted that the sketches of issues with the community is as a result of a poorly crafted MOU, of which he believed was written in a hurry or out of inexperience, hence called for the review of the MOU.

The lawmaker, who was so pleased that the syringes are made in his Federal Constituency, commended the Governor’s knack for quality products as well as investment in the healthcare sector as exemplified in the establishment of the syringe factory in the state.

Ifon said after seeing the Jubilee syringe in H-Medix Stores in Abuja and further recommendations by the pharmaceutical company, he became convinced that the product has creditably satisfied quality assurance and brand specifications and is fit for export.

“I came here to also be a witness to this viable investment that is gradually taking the center stage in syringe production after seeing your products at H-Medix stores in Abuja”

The member of the House of Representatives stated that the Governor’s investment in syringe production is a gold mine investment and deserves commendation.

In a swift reaction to the issue of the MOU, the Chairman, Jubilee Syringe MOU Committee and Company’s CLO, Pst. Essien Etuk, said the MOU needs to be reviewed to accommodate the ommitted and improper insertions.

Etuk promised that as the Chairman of the committee and company’s CLO, he will bring his wealth of experience to bridge the gap that had existed between the company and the community.

He assured the GM and the Federal Lawmaker that his position in the company will correct all anomalies and will bring about a robust working relationship between the community and the company.
