Mr. Joseph Hosea, of Ikot Edor village in ONNA L.G.A has been offered assistance by A’Ibom state government to ameliorate the suffering from the lost of his home and properties worth millions of naira to a fire outbreak.

Hosea, a father of six, returned from the farm alongside his wife to see his home and properties gutted by fire on Sunday, January 6th, 2019.

Commiserating with the family after the incident, the Honourable Commissioner of works, Akparawa Ephraim Inyangeyen, said it was very unfortunate for the family to be greeted with such ugly situation in the early hours of 2019.

Mr. Inyang stated that the Udom’s administration is a responsive government who is committed to ensuring that the welfare of the people forms an integral part of his everyday programmes.

“It is very unfortunate that you are confronted with this ugly visitor in the early hours of the year”

“Though it is disheartening, but we have a governor who runs an all-inclusive government and make people’s well-being his priority” – he said.

The Commissioner donated .25m, 10 tubers of yam, 3 bags of rice, 3 mattresses, 2 pillows, 8 wrappers and other relief materials to the affected family, promising the immediate reconstruction of a remodeled house for them.

In his reaction, Mr. Hosea, thanked the Honourable Commissioner for the government’s swift intervention, even when he had no direct access to them.

He stated that as a PDP faithful, he has noticed that it is only the PDP government that has assisted many people facing similar situation, emphasizing that the PDP is indeed government of the people, for the people and by the people.

He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that he mobilizes for all the PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections, while declaring unflinching loyalty to the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Emmanuel.

“I will continue to support Udom Emmanuel; I will mobilize for his reelection”

“It is only a man that feels the pulses of his people, can respond to such situation swiftly even when he barely knows me” he added.

It could be recalled that on Sunday, January 6th, iReporters raised an alarm following a fire outbreak that razed the home and properties of Mr. Joseph Hosea, calling for help from well-meaning A’Ibom People and the government for the family.

The fire outbreak according to witnesses could not be traced to any source as no one except little children were the only ones present.
