2019: Senator Esuene Harps on PVC Collection

A former member of the 7th Senate of the National Assembly, Senator Helen Esuene, has called on all the eligible voters from Eket State Constituency, who had not collected his/her PVC’s to do because the 2019 general election is an election with a difference, and must be looked into with every amount of seriousness if success must be achieved.

Esuene made this call when she played host to stakeholders and PDP faithful’s from Urban 4 (her ward) at her residential home in Eket, over the weekend.

She said that the powers of the PVC in the general elections is the only force that can secure the mandate, despite the wish of  some persons to tamper on the democratic rights and values of the people, using government apparatus as a tool to enforce their selfish aspirations.

“PVC is the only power that can ensure that the right people are elected into every office in the state”

“We must inform others and communicate consistently to achieve success in next year elections” She said”

The former Minister stressed that it is the people that have the right to allow impunity to thrive and it is the same people that can put a stop to any attempt by any person to sabotage the electoral process.

“The gathering of the ward members is necessitated by the affront on our democracy; we have to remain united and work together to win the upcoming general election”.

“Everything we are pursuing today is for effective governance so as to improve the living standard of our people and not about politics”

“We have to ensure that the Governor who has attracted industries to the state and working assiduously to better the lives of the people is returned for a second term”

” It is not about me, but about the future of those still growing” – she added.

The former senator while acknowledging the Governors investment in the international market, advised the people not to allow outsiders to own more shares in the market than the owners of the land, urging them to pay in batches till the payment is completed.

On MoU with ExxonMobil, she intimated the people that a committee of the four local governments was set up to produce a draft agreement, but it’s pending when government will arrange for a meeting between the multinational oil giant and the Host communities for adoption and implementation.

Also speaking, The Eket chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Obongiwaad Emman Mbong, hailed the ward for their unalloyed pursuit to deliver every candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party come 2019.

Mbong, stated that the ward is filled with people who are committed and loyal to the party, believing that with a united fronts, victory is assured.

He thanked Senator Helen Esuene for her steadfastness and love for the party that has brought a united and formidable ward, stressing that the continuous gathering will provide a platform to address all grievances and ensure that the party goes to the elections very strong.

In his remark, General Etukudoh, thanked the Senator for her magnanimity in ensuring the unification of the ward, promising to sustain the tempo of cordiality amongst the ward members.


Those who were present at the meeting are: Dr. Inam, Prince Kingsley Nddedu, Dr. Samuel Udonsak, Mr. Sam Edoho, SSA, Marketing and Brand Management, General Etukudoh, Hon. Ayang Ayang, former member AKHA, and a host of other dignitaries to grace the occasion.
