WE ARE SETTING AN UNRIVALED FIRST TERM RECORD – Gov Emmanuel in Abuja

Governor Udom Emmanuel says Akwa Ibom State under his leadership has progressed at all levels since he took charge in 2015, and that his administration has set an unprecedented record in its first term.

Mr. Emmanuel said this on Tuesday while speaking at a town hall meeting organised for Akwa Ibom indigenes in the northern states of the country at the Centre for Women Development in Abuja.

“Then you look at the whole of Nigeria, no first term governor has performed as much as I have done in Akwa Ibom state,” Emmanuel said.

He recounted the new industries now employing numerous youths, the revamp of the heath sector, roads expansion, investments in education, security, agricultural revolution, and the small and medium scale businesses development programmes, among the various programmes by his administration to ensure peace and prosperity in the state.

“You have elected a person who raised his hands and said ‘here I am send me.’ We started from the grassroots and there is development there.

“I came here to tell you that we have your interest at heart. I came to seek your partnership for the development of our dear state for you and generations yet unborn.”

“What plan do you have for the future generations? That is what we are building today.

Let me say this here, by December we are going to commission one of best factories in Nigeria,” he said.

The Governor maintained that the spirit of enterprise and hardwork occasioned by the Dakkada philosophy has been rekindled in the people, which is why the indigenes of Akwa Ibom are visible contributing to the development of any place they find themselves.

“How do you measure quality? There is no examination in this country that Akwa Ibom will score less than 76 percent.”

Earlier, the President, Akwa Ibom Community, Abuja on behalf of the 19 Northern States had pledged the unalloyed loyalty and support of his members to the Governor Emmanuel – administration and his divine mandate campaign programme.

In a message which was presented by the Vice President of the Akwa Ibom State Community in Abuja, Barr. Aniefiok Ibah, they maintained that, “Your Excellency, we have followed your astounding political ascendancy and developmental trajectory with keen interest.

“We wish to applaud your determination and commitments for following through, strictly, the cardinal principles and ethos of good governance anchored on industrialization, infrastructural development, expansionist programme on Agricultural, guaranteeing and sustaining of the security of the State.

“It is on the basis of this and many more accomplishments by your administration that I stand before you on behalf of the great people of Akwa Ibom in Abuja, its environs and the entire 19 Northern states to state unequivocally and without fear of contradiction to pledge our unalloyed loyalty to your administration and associate ourselves with the divine mandate for 2019.

They described the visit as the first of its kind from any governor since the community was founded 30 years ago, attributing it to the governor’s disposition as a gentleman of noble character.

” We salute your courage for pursuing the governance of the state with characteristic intellectual rigour, dedication and patriotism,” they added.
