GOV UDOM EMMANUEL SCORES HIGH ON PEACE AND SECURITY IN AKS  – SONI UDOM

A former Akwa Ibom State Campaign Coordinator of the APC, who recently decamped to the PDP and currently an elder in the Divine Mandate Campaign Committee, Hon. Surv. Soni Udom has scored Governor Udom Emmanuel high on Peace and Security in the State.

Hon. Soni Udom who was the Studio Guest on Update Akwa Ibom, a weekly interactive Live Radio programme said, Governor Udom Emmanuel has performed beyond expectations with regards to funds accruing to the State from the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee and scored the Governor very high on development projects as well as on maintenance of peace and security in the state.

Comparing the peace and security enjoyed now in the state to what was tenable during the last administration, Hon. Udom said, the people of Akwa Ibom will ever dread those dark ages when kidnapping and killings were the order of the day and commended Governor Emmanuel for making it possible for the people of the state to now sleep with both eyes closed.

He described Governor Udom Emmanuel as a God-fearing Qua Iboe Church nurtured personality as evidenced in his peaceful and mature manner in relating with the opposition in the state and in the disarmament of the over 200 warring youths of Etim Ekpo and Ukanafun, an act he said has impacted positively on the return of peace and security to the area and Akwa Ibom State in general.

Reiterating that, the Governor has delivered on his five point agenda of Job Creation, Poverty Alleviation, Wealth Creation, Economic and Political Inclusion and Infrastructural Consolidation and Expansion, Hon. Udom said, the openings and opportunities created by the industries and companies now operating in the State has boosted government programmes in all the outlined sectors.

Hon. Udom said the Governor is not dancing to the gallery by executing white elephant projects but on economically viable projects with low hanging fruits that will be sustainable and very beneficial to the people of Akwa Ibom state and even Nigerians at large and enlisted some of the companies to include the Syringe and Electric Metering factories.

On Agriculture, the PDP bigwig said, the most outstanding success story is the reduction in the cost of garri from 3 cups for N200 in 2015 to 13 cups  for N200 today, three years after with the agricultural renaissance of Governor Udom Emmanuel and lauded the contributions of FEYReP in the sector with the massive cassava plantations cultivated by the Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel to boost garri production which is a major staple food of Akwa Ibom people.

He urged the people of Akwa Ibom to queue behind Governor Udom Emmanuel who is a good product to enable him do more for the people and to link them to the National Grid in 2019 adding that the people must pass through the right transmission line to be linked to the National Grid in the next political dispensation.
