GOV UDOM ENCOURAGED US TO SUPPORT ATIKU- ANIETIE OKON

Leader of the Atiku Abubakar support group in Akwa Ibom, Senator Anietie Okon has commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for his role in the emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Speaking with reporters shortly on return from the elective convention in Port Harcourt, Senator Okon said Governor Emmanuel in his foresight was able to support them to join the Atiku Abubakar campaign Organization.

Anietie Okon who is the leader of the state support group of the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation said he was happy that the Governor gave them his nod to participate actively in the process of the emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate.

“I headed the support group in the state, and other key members included Senator Emmanuel Ibokessien, Senator Helen Esuene, Senator Effiong Bob and Chief Nduese Essien.”

The efforts of the state contingent paid off, as Alhaji Abubakar emerged victorious in the convention to fly the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the 2019 elections.

Senator Okon said they worked assiduously for Alhaji Atiku because they saw in him, a Nationalist who had succeeded in the private sector, and was competent to correct the rot in the country’s economy.

The pioneer publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party said from all indications, Akwa Ibomites like other Nigerians were eager to vote out President Buhari who has disappointed the State and indeed the country with his failed promises.
