Governor Emmanuel Congratulates New Oku Ibom

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has congratulated the newly selected Oku Ibom, HRM, Edidem Solomon Daniel Etuk, the Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubium.

The new Oku Ibom was unanimously selected last Friday, September 14, 2018 by a solid majority of all Ibibio Paramount Rulers during the Ifim Ibom Ibibio Supreme Assembly which took place at the Palace of the Paramount Ruler of Ibiono Ibom, HRM, Okuku Ime Udousoro Inyang.

In a statement signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, Governor Emmanuel commended the Ibibio Monarchs for the sense of unity, transparency and oneness they displayed in the selection process of the new Oku Ibom. “The seamless and peaceful selection of the new Oku Ibom which was done under an atmosphere of love and conviviality is a testament to the unity that exists among our Monarchs.

This is highly commendable. It is also noteworthy that the New Oku Ibom is a widely travelled and highly educated leader who has had huge success in the private sector as well as a being a successful lawyer. I wish the Oku Ibom long reign”.
