A gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressive Congress in Akwa Ibom State, Bishop Samuel Akpan, has lost his in-law, Mr. Linus Usen and hundreds of his supporters to the Peoples Democratic Party in ONNA Local Government Area of the state.

Mr. Usen who left the Peoples Democratic Party during the 2015 elections with his in-law, Bishop Akpan, while fighting for the Governorship position on the Accord Party platform and later defected with him to the APC ahead of the 2019 general election has declared his unflinching support for Governor Udom Emmanuel and the PDP.

Receiving the decampees yesterday in Awa ward 1 party office (Hometown of the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Emmanuel), the ONNA Chapter Chairman of the PDP, Barr. Ubong Adiahakpan said he was delighted to see Mr. Linus and his followers come back home to fight a cause that history will come to emulate and appreciate.

Adiahakpan, described Mr. Linus as a man that has political wit, with proven integrity, stating further that he believes the merger spells UHURU for the PDP in Awa ward 2 and ONNA at large.

He advised Mr. Linus to take the good news of the Peoples Democratic Party to other members of the APC that are cowed into retaining their stance with the APC, reiterating that APC is a collapsed building any sane person should not stay in, and also promised to include them in the scheme of things in the party.

In his remarks, Mr. Linus said he was happy to return back to the fold after a while of misadventure in the All Progressive party.

“PDP has been my family from inception, I have been a member of the PDP and have contributed immensely towards the success and growth of the party in both the local government and state.

Mr. Linus said the Peoples Democratic party is very seasoned and mature to achieve success in any aspiration, believing that 2019 is sure for the party.

He asserted further that he was a leader that has followers and that all his followers have defected with him to ensure victory for Udom in the forthcoming elections.

Those present at the event includes; Barr. Ubong Adiahakpan, Arch. Mfon Akpabio, Hon. Tony Akpabot and a host of other dignitaries to grace the occasion.
