To further strengthen and gather massive votes for the re-election of Governor Udom Emmanuel come 2019, the Personal Assistant to the Governor on Marketing and Brand Management, Mrs Josephine Bassey took the ongoing voters card registration closer to the grassroots but this time to the non-indigenes in the state.

Addressing the gathering, the facilitator thanked them for their support to the Governor and maintaining the peace in the state. She expressed satisfaction with the massive turnout of the people while hoping that the registration exercise will also help in collating data that will in turn help create a database for Akwa Ibom State.

She further expressed optimism that Governor Udom Emmanuel will emerged victorious come 2019 because of his positive impact in the state so far adding that despite the wings of defection, he still remains the best candidate for the state.

“I am here today because I have listened with rapt attention the plight currently being faced by you all in terms of the ongoing voters card registration and in my own little capacity, i pleaded with the officials of INEC to bring the registration closer.” She said.

The non-indigenes in their response thanked the facilitator for the kind gesture in bringing the registration closer to them stating that since most of them are into business, it becomes a challenge to go to the INEC office at Ikot Akpan Abia to get registered. They further stated that they had made appeal on several occasions to INEC to bring the registration closer to them all to no avail.

The exercise which was conducted Thursday 9th and Wednesday 10th at the Comprehensive Secondary Commercial School (COM.SEC.COM), Ibiaku Itam, Itu, witnessed a large turnout of indigenes and non-indigenes who came out to get registered.
