Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria, as well as Keke Owners and Riders Association, have all endorsed Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, for a second term in office.

Declaring his support for Emmanuel through a senator from Zamfara State, Kabir Marafa, during an empowerment programme by the lawmaker representing Uyo Senatorial District, Bassey Albert, at the Uyo Township Stadium, Saraki said that he was satisfied with the governor’s performance and therefore favoured a motion for his re-election.

Speaking further, Saraki commended Albert for his passion to give his people effective representation, pointing out that he was a good ambassador of the state in the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, members of TOAN and KORA have jointly declared their support for Emmanuel during a solidarity visit to the Government House in Uyo, the capital, citing his impressive performance so far in office as the reason behind that.

In his reaction, Governor Emmanuel, while thanking the Senate President and members of the transport unions for the vote of confidence in his leadership of the state, promised to perform even better if re-elected into office.

He said his administration had embarked on a massive construction of internal roads within Uyo, revealing that more parts of the state would be transformed once he was given the people’s mandate.

He also urged the people of Akwa Ibom to re-elect performing lawmakers representing the state at the National Assembly,  saying that doing so would aid development.

In his remarks, Senator Albert, who gave out vehicles, tricycles and other notable items to the people, said that as a representative of the people of Akwa Ibom, he would continue to work with all the relevant stakeholders to move the state forward.
