Going by the huge number of eligible but unregistered voters in ORO nation, comprising Oron, Idung Uko, Urue Offong-Oruku, Mbo and Okobo local government areas, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Rt. Hon. Victor Antai is working assiduously to change voter’s numerical evaluation of the geo-political zone.

Antai, who sees the exercise as a contest to boost their voting strength, has taken the ongoing voters registration sensitization/ awareness campaigns to be the unique opportunity to achieve that dream for the Oro people.

Commencing his ward to ward tour in Oron Federal Constituency last week Friday, The honourable commissioner has so far visited three local governments, Mbo, Idung Uko and Urue Offong Oruku in the Federal constituency.

The tourism whizkid noticed that Oro has overtime experienced low turn outs of voters during elections as a result of the outnumbering of registered voters by the unregistered, which does not give them the required bargaining power on the table of political discuss.

The culture and Tourism commissioner, while visiting each of the wards across the three local governments described the ongoing voter’s registration as the required chance to equip the Federal Constituency for decision making times.

He lamented the poor turnout for registration in previous registration exercises by eligible voters to be the reason Oro nation is submerged in the quagmire of underdevelopment it is witnessing today.

“If Oro Nation must grow, our voter’s strength is the required tool to make that happen”
“We must see this registration exercise as an opportunity to purchase our bargaining chip”
He stated further that Governor Emmanuel has done Oro well and as such, needs to be appreciated in 2019.

“Governor Udom has proven to be Oron friendly by his infrastructural renaissance across Oron Federal Constituency”
“He is a man that loves us and we must appreciate him with our votes for his reelection in 2019, so he can do more for us” – He added

Antai, who was yesterday accompanied by the Chairman Urue Offong Oruku Local Government, Hon. Umanah Efumbru, Member representing Urue Offong Oruku, Hon. Archibong Asuquo, said he wants to see Oron match other federal constituencies with their number of voters.
