Despite the heavy rainfall along Nditia Peninsula yesterday, that soaked the campaign team to their marrow, the Eket chapter of the PDP are undeterred in their quest for victory as they intensify campaign to Okon Development 1&2.
Okon Development 1& 2 comprising 9 vilages; Ikot Oso, Ikot Obionana, Ikot Akpaenang, Ikot Ikpe, Ikot Okpokon, Ikot Abasi, Ikot Nsidebe, Nduo Duo, were so elated as displayed in their warm receipt of the incoming Chairman and the campaign team.
The team led by the State treasurer of the party, Barr. Akpadiaha Ebitu commenced the tour with a visit to the Clan head of Okon, Obong Akpabio Ekpoton for his royal blessings before proceeding into different villages.
While presenting the candidate, the state treasurer assured the council of chiefs that Hon. Frank Archibong is a man that can be trusted and should be supported without any fear or doubts for unprecedented development.
He emphasized that it is only PDP led governments that can guarantee a renaissance in development and it’s sustainability, urging them to stand by Hon. Frank Archibong and Mr. Udom Emmanuel to actualize the desire of the community.
In his response, The Clan head before conferring blessings upon the candidates stressed that Frank Archibong has not been found wanting even when tested with the mandate in the transition committee.
He assured the team that come Dec. 2nd, the entire Okon community will go out enmass to vote all PDP candidates into their respective offices, and also appealed to the incoming chairman to plead with state government to consider constructing the road leading to his community.
In affirmation of a trusted integrity, Hon. Frank Archibong thanked the council of chiefs for believing in the PDP and their continuous support for Gov. Udom Emmanuel from the inception of his administration.
He asserted that since Gov. Emmanuel who is the leader of the party has provoked development in the state, he will strive to emulate the kind gesture of the Governor in the local government level when voted into office.
Archibong urged everyone to keep their voters card intact, and perform their constitutional rights come December 2.
In the nine villages, representatives of the community took their time to applaud the PDP team for embarking on rigorous campaign, not minding the structures they have already built in the local government.
They shared their challenges with the team and they were assured of impactful leadership once they vote Frank Archibong into office. .
