The members of state executive of the Enugu State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress {APC}, loyal to Dr Ben Nwoye, said the party in the state will write a protest letter to President Muhammadu Buhari and the senate President,Senator Bukola Saraki, alleging that both  appointments were made to serve the clannish interest of some well placed members of the party against the collective interest of the party in the state and the federal government led by President Buhari, stating both Mr Geoffrey Onyeama and Loretta Aniagolu hails from the same local government area of the state.
Briefing newsmen at the state party secretariat yesterday, the Nwoye led executive of Enugu APC however commended the appointment of  Mr Osita Okechukwu as Director General of Voice of Nigeria [VON DG] as well deserved, on the ground that he is among the APC party stalwarts that worked hard for the party in Enugu state.
Nwoye said those who suffered for the party are the ones that should be compensated with appointments.
His words,’The leadership of the  All Progressives Congress[APC] in Enugu state after reviewing the various appointments made so far by APC led Federal Governments including the appointment of Geoffrey Onyema as Foreign Affairs Minister as well as  the recent appointment of Mrs Loretta Aniagolu as a member of Federal Road Maintenance Agency{FERMA}, decided to formally write a letter to President Muhamadu Buahari and the Senate president, Bukola Saraki to register their protest over the appointments.
Nwoye said those who suffered for the party are the ones that should be compensated with appointments. He described those who made the recommendations as  not having  the interest of the president at heart.
“Those who labored in the vineyard should eat from the vineyard. Those that mobilized people from the local governments during Bukhara’s campaign visits are being ignored and neglected”.
He said though they have no personal issue with the beneficiaries of the appointments, they were not happy that so many of  the party stalwarts who suffered for the party and used their hard earned income to sponsor the party were sidelined in the appointments.
While describing the appointment of Osita Okechukwu as a deserved one, Nwoye alleged that some of the beneficiaries of the appointments never suffered for the party,  alleging that some of them were even working against the party and the president.
He vowed that the state executive of the party in Enugu state would no longer fold their hands and allow them to work against the interest of the president. He lamented that some people who were not even members of the APC have continued to reap from  where they did not sow.
But his rival, Comrade Adolphus Ude, in a chat with news men in Enugu at the weekend, described the allegations that the Minister of Foreign affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama is fronting Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s 2019 presidential ambition against that of President Buhari, by Dr Ben Nwoye led camp as very untrue. Instead,a deliberate plot to malign Mr Onyeama before the presidency,in expectation that President Buhari  will consider them for a ministerial position, to replace Mr Onyeama.
Comrade Ude  also denied the allegation that the Foreign affairs Minister took side with him in the lingering internal  crisis rocking  the state wing of the party. He said that Mr Onyeama’s position is for the leadership of the  party in Enugu state to run an all inclusive administration, where the various elected party officials will assume their positions and work harmoniously for the progress of the party in the state.
His words,’We want to reassure the general public that the Foreign affairs minister,Mr Geoffrey Onyeama is not taking side or supporting Atiku’s 2019 Presidential ambition, but working assiduously to make sure that what happened in Enugu state in last presidential election will not repeat itself by calling for an all inclusive party, transparency and accountability’.
‘The abysmal performance of APC in the 2015 presidential election in Enugu state was caused by the inability of the party to adhere to the party constitution, lack of accountability and transparency’,Ude stated.
Comrade A.C.Ude insisted he is still the head of APC party in Enugu state on acting capacity said the misappropriation of funds allocated to the Enugu state chapter of APC for execution of President Buhari’s campaign in the state have been reported to  EFCC and DSS  and at the appropriate time, those who are involved will be exposed to the public.
