Eket Chairmanship Poll: No Aspirant has been Endorsed – PDP Chapter Chairman

  • No Stakeholder has moved against the TC, Ors

iReporters News.

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eket Chapter, Obong Iwaad Emman Mbong, has warned those who are parading themselves as PDP stakeholders, propagating falsehood with intent to create tension in the tranquil political ambiance of Eket, to desist from heating up the polity and putting the party in bad light before the electorates.

Mbong stated this during a telephone interaction with our reporter yesterday, to debunk the byline on the Radar Newspaper of Monday, 28th August, 2017 with headline “LG Poll: Eket Stakeholders Move Against TC……endorse Monday Ette, Usoro Usoro Ors”.

The party Chairman said that the Peoples Democratic Party has been a victim of impunity, which culminated into fracas that ate deep into the fabric of the party, giving way to the canker worms and the caterpillars to build castles in brick at the detriment of the party.

He said that no stakeholder has moved against the Transition Chairman, Hon. Frank Archibong or any other aspirant on the course of their political sojourn.

“The party has been through a lot in time recent; even if it wasn’t in the state, but the state also felt the pangs the National went through”

“It will be out of place for us to allow ourselves to be used against the tenets of the party and the improvised standards that guides us”

He stressed that the party is Supreme, and as such, no one has the right under any guise to endorse or screen anyone for the party.

Mbong said that the riders of the aforementioned headline on the Radar Newspaper are not wrong in endorsing those they feel will suit their caprice and whims, but that is not the decision of the party, but theirs.

“The Peoples Democratic party will provide a level playing ground for all aspirants”

“Any aspirant who claims to be popular should not be vying for Chairmanship or Councillorship on Facebook, but should know that Facebook cannot guarantee his/her aspiration’s success” – Mbong added.

He urged all those who are convinced of their popularity to desist from blackmail, propaganda and the pull him down syndrome, and allow the electorates to decide who they want as Chairman or Councillor.
