Edet Edet – Eket.
Just as INEC begin the continuous Voters Registration (CVR) Exercise last Thursday, the Transition Committee Chairman of Eket Local Government and Algon Chairman, Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Frank Archibong, has urged indigenes of Eket Local Government to partake in the primary step that will bestow upon them, rights to choose who they want as leaders.
He made this assertion during a stakeholders meeting organized to sensitize, mobilize and flag-off the exercise at the Local Government secretariat.
Frank in his address stated that the powers to elect quality and desired leaders are vested in the PVC’s, making it a necessity for everyone (18yrs- and above) to partake and own the PVC for future elections.
“For the pulses of the people to be felt, credible leaders must be voted into office; and it can only be done with our PVC’s. Your PVC is the key to redefining leadership, so it’s time to take advantage of the exercise and mobilize every persons (18 and above) to partake if only we intend to elect our choice of leaders” – Frank stated.
He beckoned on Akwa Ibomites to see the opportunity of PVC registration as the decider of the future, noting that it is only leaders that are chosen by the people that can guarantee a great future.
Speaking also at the event, a former minister/ member of the house of representative, Rt. Hon. Ndueso Essien, commended INEC for granting another opportunity to those who could not partake in the previous elections, due to non-possession of PVC’s, advising that the exercise should be devoid of any act of brigandage .
