The treasurer, Akwa Ibom State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, Barr. Akpadiaha Ebitu boasted that the party is too formidable to be pushed out of the state governance in successive elections.
He made this assertion in a breakfast meeting he organized for members/ supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Eket Local Government at his residence in Afaha Eket.
Ebitu, stated that the essence of the gathering was to provide a platform for people to ventilate their views, perceptions and grievances, which he believes will guarantee the party’s unity, and will further boost the undeterred stance of supporters towards promoting, sustaining the governorship mandate that rightly belongs to Eket Senatorial District till 2023.
He however frowned at those who defected to the APC, saying they are weather members, who will eventually move to another party when the weather changes.
Holding brief as chairman of the event, Rt. Hon. Chief Ndueso Essien, former minister and house of representative member stated that there is a need to be gathering once in a while to remind members that they belong to a party whose course they must uphold. He stressed that PDP is alive with a wider objective, and supporters should not be dissuaded by the squabbles in the National as it will be resolved in no distant time. He enjoined all members to continue in preaching about the party and the procreativity’s of the Udom’s administration without faint, so that those who are misinformed will understand where we are from what is said.
The state party chairman who was ably represented by the state Legal Adviser, Barr. Godwill Umoh stood grounds with his colleagues saying, PDP remains an undivided entity in the state, promising supporters that the party will reclaim the seats of anyone who had defected with the party’s mandate to another party, stating that every modalities has been put in place to ensure its realization.
In the same vein, Dr. Samuel Udonsek, a Governorship candidate in the 2011, 2015 general election, emulated those who were aggrieved and still stand their grounds to support the party; meaning they have sacrificed their personal interest for the party’s sake, keeping the party a priority, just like he has done.
