The Executives of Intra-Party Advisory Council IPAC, Akwa Ibom State council in a courtesy visit to the Deputy Chief Whip, Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly, Hon. (Otuekong) Nse Essien yesterday commended the lawmaker’s effort in deepening democracy in Akwa Ibom.
In an introductory speeches by the State Chairman, Engr. Bishop Martins Inyang and the SA to the Governor on Intra-Party affairs, Hon. Lawrence Udoh, the body expressed gratitude to the Onna born lawmaker on his recorded meritorious services and human capital development through skills acquisitions and empowerment training which has helped in assuaging penury engulfing the people of Onna.
Speaking, the State Chairman, Engr. Martins, stressed that IPAC which is referred to as an alternative party came to inform the lawmaker of their readiness to align with the governor to ensure programs and policies of government are projected, implemented and promoted at all times. “We want to use this medium to intimate you that other political parties state chairmen under the umbrella of IPAC are proud of governor Udom Emmanuel”- he said.
“We are equally satisfied by your style of leadership which has distinct you from other politicians. But be informed that IPAC have not been incorporated in all public hearings and sessions in the house which would have enable IPAC contribute its quota in building our state to an esteem of greatness” Martins said
“I want to advice that the issue of undue hike in petroleum products in the State be looked unto by the house members to ensure that scarcity is curtailed” Martins added.
Hon. Lawrence Udoh, SA to the governor commended the lawmaker in looking towards building indelible legacies which is noted by all and sundry in the state. He reiterated his earlier stand emphasizing that the interest and mission of IPAC is to deepen democracy.
However, Lawrence maintained that an all-inclusive politics will not give way to opposition and wrangling about governance, ”we do not represent ourselves as opposition parties, our aim is to partner with the present administration led by His Excellency, Udom Emmanuel to give solutions to the problems of Akwa Ibom people”.
Nevertheless, the governor has enormously and pragmatically shown commitment in the Akwa Ibom Project which is visible in all areas but, we want to see him to officially introduce our great minds and ideas to him” Mr. Lawrence said.
In his remark, Hon. Nse Essien thanked the IPAC executives and members on their resolved to concentrate and abide in peace and cohesion which will really help in building the state as designed by the governor.
The lawmaker assured IPAC of harmonious coexistence, cohesive governance and all
inclusive-legislative tenure at all times. He went further to commend the governor on his magnanimity in attending to the plight of Akwa Ibom people citing the case of three million Naira medical support which the governor granted an ailing son of Akwa Ibom for an overseas medical treatment. “The Roads, Schools, Infrastructures, Jobs creation initiated by the administration of His Excellency, Udom Emmanuel are not a PDP projects, it is for all of us which IPAC is a partner and beneficiaries”.
IPAC should be seen as partners of development if we are to attain our designed goals and objectives as democracy entails; therefore, don’t give up in your efforts and commitments in supporting the government to help bring wider development to our people. Essien added.
