2 Wanted cult kingpins, 4 suspected kidnappers Arrested in Eket

The Akwa Ibom Police Command in Ikot Akpan-abia on Monday confirmed the arrest of two notorious cultists terrorising Eket Local Government Area and its environ, and four suspected kidnappers.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP McDon Odiko, disclosed this to iReporters in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.
MacDon said that investigation was ongoing on the matter and that the suspects were arrested between last week and Monday, Dec. 31.
“There was an attempted kidnap in Eket sometimes last week, and the victim luckily escaped and four have been arrested and presently in police custody,” MacDon said.
He said that, “the story making the rounds is true, investigations is still ongoing to ascertain the extent of their culpability, but they were found with the kidnapped materials.”
Also speaking, a source who claimed anonymity told iReporters that the two notorious cultists molested someone yesterday and collected his phone at Main School road in Afaha Eket community in Eket.
The names of the cult kingpins are Jonny Monday alias “fuck no pay” and Sam Umana alias” Lord”, were rounded up by the youths and  beaten to a pulp,  and were  handed over to the police along Main school road in Eket.
“The suspected cultists were beaten up by some youths at Main School road and in the process, one of their gun fell off his hand.
“The youths beat them and quickly informed the police that arrested them and took them to Eket Police Division.
The source alleged that the victims came to carry out an assassination in Eket and it’s environ before they were apprehended by the policemen.
iReporters report authoritatively  that the duo was declared wanted by Mr Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi, the 23rd Commissioner of Police in the state and now the AIG Zone 6 Calabar.
He recalled that Monday was alleged to had  killed a popular contract staff, “Mr Bello” who was working at one of the multinational oil company in Ibeno local government area of the state.
He alleged that Monday killed Bello in June 12, 2018, at Atai Ndon in Eket Local Government Area of the state.
