It is seems to be Uhuru for Hon. Frank Archibong, former TC, Eket Local Government in the upcoming Dec. 2nd local government election, going by the spate of acceptability and endorsement by stakeholders, women, and the entire electorates, coming as a result of his proven antecedent, impactful leadership and non-egocentric leadership disposition displayed when tested with the office in the Caretaker capacity.
The youths took their turn yesterday as they gathered in thousands to celebrate him in his Ikot Ibiok country home, declaring their unalloyed support and formally declaring him the youth’s consensus candidate to vote for, because “he is a good man”
In his remark, Comr. Tommey Enodien, Youth Caucus Chairman, Eket Chapter while speaking on behalf of the youth Caucus, defined the former TC as a leader per excellence filled with passion for youth capacity building, with a view to check the menace of unemployment, channeling the energy of the youths into something productive to create independency in livelihood.
He enumerated the proactive approach to modern governance as exhibited by the former TC to be anchored on, raising a mentally and technically equipped youths for the labour market, which is why he facilitates skills acquisition, Oil and Gas trainings, Mechatronics Training and other numerous training that makes the youth a brand awaiting sales.
He reaffirmed the youth caucus unalloyed stance and unwavering support for Hon. Frank Archibong, saying he is the best bet for Eket in this pressing and idea obligatory era.
The Youth Council Chairman, Eket Council, Comr. Joseph Assam said he is impressed by the leadership standard exhibited by the former transition chairman on the course of governance in the transition capacity.
In his words “I don’t know what to say; I mean the best word to describe Hon. Frank Archibong, I know he is a good man”
“I know Frank will be accessible as Executive Chairman, and anybody that is accessible will always hear the cry of the people”
“Frank is the youth chairman we can count on. He is the man that feels the plight of the youths and knows better how to emancipate the polity from the menace of joblessness.” – He added.
He, on behalf of the youths said “With FRANK ARCHIBONG and UDOM EMMANUEL” they will stand till 2023 and beyond.
Responding to their remarks, Hon. Frank Archibong expressed happiness to the teaming youths, said he knew that good governance attracts the electorates to the government, which is the reason he strived to ensure that as Transition Chairman.
Frank Archibong who doubled as the State ALGON Chairman, asserted that he served Eket Local Government as Caretaker Chairman, until the middle of August when he resigned to join the Chairmanship race so as to enable him water the seed that was already sowed, and actualize the developmental plan that had commenced the process.
“I served Eket Local Government as Transition Chairman until the middle of August when I resigned to contest for the Executive Chairmanship position”
“What we had done as an administration in the transition committee was to lay a foundation for an elective government”- he added
Archibong noted that the most important thing for the teaming youths is employment, and employment in the whole cannot be achieved in one day, but assured that employment is what his administration has and will continue to work assiduously to achieve.
“Before I resigned, one of the last meetings I had with ExoonMobil was a meeting to reposition the employment opportunities in the company”
“Before now there were companies that came and employed non-indigenes, negating the local content act of considering indigenes as a priority”
“What we had done was to balance the sheet, with an agreement that no company comes in except through the Local Government, so that local content will be supervised and enforced”
“We are going to lay serious emphasis on employment, what you are going to do is to equip yourself with the necessary skills, so that opportunity will meet preparedness.
“As the government is trying to equip you, you have to also equip yourself– he added.
On His aspiration, Hon. Frank Archibong said he came to tell the youths that there is a need vote one of their own to be chairman.
He stated further that he is coming into the race to reposition the entire system and put smiles on the Peoples face.
He warned the youths not to be used as a thuggery tool to disrupt the process as culprits will be apprehended.
“Don’t allow anybody to use you as a thug, the election will be violence free. You should aid security operatives to fetch out those traits to the nomination process” he stressed.
He said election is about popularity and anybody who considers himself to be popular should go to the poll and win.
He urged every youth who desire change to get his voters card ready, noting that only that alone will guarantee the actualization of such desire.
After due deliberations, the youths unanimously endorsed Hon. Frank Archibong as their choice of candidate.
