- Call on Governor Udom to intervene
Residents of D-Line in Ewet Housing Estate has called on the Governor, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel to come to their aid as Hensek Construction Company have abandoned the drainage project awarded to the company.
Speaking to iReporters on the condition of anonymity, one of the resident stated that since the contract was awarded to Hensek by the state government, the company has displayed unprofessional attitude in its execution.
They recalled that before the rain came down, the contract has been on a very slow pace as Hensek deploys only about 4-6 workers daily for the execution of the project with one or no equipment.
It was also noted that the construction work undergone by the company on the said drainage is sub-standard in a government residential area, doubting the capability of its quality to perform the function in which it was meant for.
Further casting aspersions on the standard of work executed by the company, one resident recounted that in an attempt for one of the residents to drive through the slap constructed to enable car access to homes, the slaps crashed with the vehicle into the gutter.
They demand that the state government should assign an uncompromised team of inspectors to inspect the job done, as the abandoned state of the project is hazardous to the people in the environment.
Every attempt to get to the CEO of Hensek proved abortive as at the time of filing this report as he refused picking his calls or responding to text messages.
