- Condoles with Governor Udom Emmanuel and Families of Those who lost their lives in Reigners Collapse
In an effort to compliment effective representation and selfless exhibitions in public office, a renowned youth group, who spurred the agitation of Eket Senatorial District 2015 gubernatorial succession, under the auspices of EKET SENATORIAL DISTRICT YOUTHS ASSEMBLY (ESDYA) yesterday paid a courtesy call on the member representing Esit Eket / Ibeno state constituency/ Chairman Finance and appropriation committee, AKHA, Hon. (Dr.) Usoro Akpanusoh, in his office.
The group which was led by Evang. Joseph Mbong (Int’l president) in their remarks extolled the MP for his insatiable quest to provide dividends of representation to his people despite the challenging recessive economy.
Mbong in his statement commiserated with His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and the families of those who lost their lives in the Reigners Bible church collapse, describing the incidence as a very unfortunate situation that has plunged Akwa Ibom into mourning in time recent; and therefore observed a one minute silence in memory of the deceased.
He stressed that the archives have proven the honourable member to be youth friendly from his philanthropic expositions and kindhearted legislative guide, engaged to remedy youth’s problem across his state constituency, which warranted the “Assembly man award” by the Akwa Ibom watch awards group.
In their convictions, the group having satisfied that the Honourable member met the criterion of being the group’s patron adopted him unanimously as one, and bestowed on him an award of excellence for his meritorious services. They reiterated the groups dogged stance to revalidate the mandate bestowed on his Excellency, Mr. Emmanuel come 2019 and thus, urged the Governor to be focused in substantiating his promises made to Akwa Ibom people during his campaigns. He however, endorsed Dr. Usoro Akpanusoh for a second term in office, believing he would do more for his people.
In response, the House member Dr. Akpanusoh whose bill on the amendment of the Akwa Ibom State land acquisition and urban renewal act was passed into law thanked God for the wisdom, grace given him to contribute his quota during his legislative engagement and to be noticed positively by youths in his senatorial district; said he was humbled. He however stated that since the legislative responsibility of a lawmaker is to make laws as enshrined in the constitution, he and other legislators in the hallowed chambers are working assiduously to procreate laws that will engender financial growth in the state economy and will provide jobs, a safe haven for business to thrive.
On the narratives, his sponsored bill on the amendment of Akwa Ibom State land aquisition and urban renewal act that was passed into law yesterday as stated by him, will aid check the activities of the telecom service providers in the state, provide safety to resident living close to their installations, and will monitor their data services to ensure they pay due entitlement to the state and community housing their installations.
He also enumerated his empowerment scheme for women, youths among which are; partnership with capital microfinance bank to dole out loans to the tune of fifty million naira to entrepreneurs, etc.
He commended the leadership of the sixth assembly, ably led by Rt. (Hon.) Onofiok luke for his legislative prowess, spurring every legislator to rise to the task of legislating for the their people. He also tasked Akwa Ibom people to note that Udom’s tenure expires in 2023, urging everybody to join hands with the professional in politics ‘Mr. Udom Emmanuel’ to turn Akwa Ibom into an industrial hub as proposed.
